Yung Kuang Road
This photo series captures the striking geometry and utilitarian elegance of 63–66 Yung Kuang Road. Singapore’s iconic “diamond blocks.” Completed in 1973 by the Jurong Town Corporation, these 21-storey towers form a diamond-shaped courtyard, a rare example of modernist housing designed for industrial workers during Singapore’s rapid development era . Once the tallest buildings in Jurong, they combined residential units with a shopping complex at the base, including the town’s first supermarket. Though no longer conserved, their bold form and layered history remain a compelling lens on the city’s architectural and social evolution.
